Unknown woman, photographed in a hand-tinted daguerreotype or early ambrotype, most likely dating to circa 1858–1863. The lace bonnet tied beneath the chin, wide ribbon bow, and tightly fitted bodice place this firmly in the late 1850s to very early 1860s. Her center-parted hair and the soft hand-coloring to the cheeks and ribbon were common practices during this period, added to give life to otherwise monochrome images.
